ELANCE SUCKS.
Their rates are horrendous. Why would they have the gall
to charge website designers $150 a month (on top of the
regular subscription fees) to bid on projects, when it is
us webdesigners that will get fed up with paying them for
doing nothing and just design and implement our own site
for this stuff?
Screw ELANCE and what it stands for, they are nothing but
a rip off!

Steve, come 26 April, I am sure there will be newly flamed fires of controversy concerning elance. That's the deadline for ending any and all "free" bidding.

As you are aware, I've stated that from my viewpoint there is seemed to be optimism in regards the "promise" of elance. However, I am not so stupid as to disregard the observations and admonitions of my business peers. Your soundings,coupled with many others who are in the business of making money, cannot be ignored.

I have spotted two major flaws within elance. I know, the list of flaws grows daily, but those of importance to me are customer relations management (there isn't any) and administrative back-office policies and programming. Presently, it seems that elance is infested with inexperienced people who do not know how to deal with clientele and people who do not seem to be able to grasp the impetus of prompt business transactions and communication. Should these two deficiencies not be corrected by 26 April, yours truly will be but a short-lived memory at elance.

The 'lollipop' has been fast licked down to the stick.

if there is anyone interested in trashing elance , i know how.. my fellow countrymen hackers have a deal with me .. if i decide to pay them $500 they will trash the site , all the databases and even put my picture as the first page of site... but i do not want to part from $500 just yet (and i don't have that much cash to spend on elance trashing)... if anyone is interested in sponsoring the "BLACK HAND" organization and trashing elance , call me..

I have more beef with the uninformed buyers than with elance. These people go for the cheapest bid 9 times out of 10. It's ridiculous. People have told me to stick to the standard pricing - right. That way I'll get 0 jobs. Oh, Select sucks too.

I just saw your new CHOICE logo's and all the info that elance will be shutting the opposition down. I wondered if you can clarify for us what differences there are between the GSP and Select program? One is a membership exclusive by invitation and the other is a membership that anyone can pay to join.

Well, the guestbook is up after nearly 1000 hits to the site. The furor has died down, so not expecting anything much in here since the rush is over, but still thought it would be a nice touch.
